PINKERTON'S PRINTS of BRITISH MEDALS
This 209 year old copper engraving was rescued from John Pinkerton's (1758-1826) "THE MEDALLIC HISTORY OF ENGLAND" published in London by E. Harding in 1802. The print was engraved by Jas Kirk, C. Hall or Barlow.
The large print is in very good condition, blank on back with minimal, usual age toning. It has prominent plate marks and is 7" x 9" on a page that is 10" x 12 1/2". The paper is hand made laid paper with variable thickness. It is suitable for framing and would be an excellent gift. (especially for a coin collector or in a bank office)
When you purchase the print, you will receive the coin-by-coin history and description that came with it. Since the descriptions were printed both sides, you will often receive a facimile copy of the description.
