HAND-COLORED COPPER ENGRAVING - ANTIQUE RELIGIOUS PRINT
This 288 year old HAND-COLORED copper engraving is from Pietre de Honde's "PRINT BIBLE" from 1728. The fine print was engraved by Mulder from a painting by Arnold Houbraken.
Arnold Houbraken (1660 – 1719) was a Dutch painter and writer from Dordrecht, now remembered mainly as a biographer of artists from the Dutch Golden Age
CONDITION
The print is in very good condition, with minimal, usual age toning. The image is about 13 1/2 " x 8 1/2 " on a page that is 17 " x 10 ". (blank on back) It is engraved on hand-made chain-linked paper. The engraving is suitable for framing and would be an excellent gift.
