HAND-COLORED COPPER ENGRAVING - ANTIQUE GREEK PRINT
This 334 year old HAND-COLORED copper engraving was rescued from Ovid's "OVID'S EPISTLES TRANSLATED BY SEVERAL HANDS" published for Jacob Tonson in London in 1680.
CONDITION
The print is in very good condition, with minimal, natural age toning. The image is about 6 " x 3 1/2 " on a page that is 7 1/2 " x 4 1/2 ". (blank on back) It is engraved on hand-made, laid paper. The engraving is signed & dated in print by the engraver. The engraving is suitable for framing and would be an excellent gift.
The book that this print came from is rare. It sells on the Internet for up to $2500.
