ANTIQUE CHILD'S PRINT
This "Antique Child's Print" was rescued from the book "THE PRETTY PICTURE MAGIC PAINTING BOOK" published by Sam'l Gabriel Sons & Co. of New York in c1925. The books were sold with uncolored pictures. The child would take a brush and paint the print with water. The colors escaped and a truly beautiful chromolithograph appeared. I beleive that these prints are from about 1925 but the subjects and treatment look more like children's books from about 1870.
The print is in good condition with minor age toning and rough edges. There is a tiny chip out of the right bottom corner that can easily be cropped out and not be seen when matted and framed. The size of the image is about 9" x 6 1/2" on a page that is 9 1/2" x 7 1/2". Two or four of these would make a lovely wall-hanging grouping in your grandchild's bedroom .
