ANTIQUE, STEEL ENGRAVING of FAMOUS BRITAINS This 176 year old print was rescued from the book "PORTRAITS OF ILLUSTRIOUS PERSONAGES OF GREAT BRITAN" by Edmund Lodge, dated 1835. It was published by Harding & Lepard of London.This steel engraved print (the size of the picture) is about 5" x 4" on a page that is about 11" x 7 1/2". It is in very good condition with usual age toning and bumped edges. It is suitable for framing and would be an excellent gift. This engraving is very detailed and the indentation from stamping is quite pronounced. The set of books that included this print is rare and sells for up to $2,500 on the Internet. The print that is being sold is of "THOMAS HOWARD, DUKE OF NORFOLK". |
