Colored Lithograph or Chromo print from Louis Van Houtte's "HORTO VAN HOUTTEANO". The lithographers were Stroobant, severeyns & De Pannemaker. This genuine 165 year old print was published in Belguim in 1850.
Louis Benoît van Houtte (1810 - 1876) was a Belgian horticulturist who is best known for the journal Flore des Serres et des Jardins de l'Europe, produced with Charles Lemaire, an extensive work boasting more than 2000 coloured plates in 23 volumes published between 1845 and 1883.
This chromo is in very good condition with mild age toning. The size of the image is about 10 1/2" x 8" .
