HAND-COLOURED COPPER ENGRAVING - ANTIQUE RELIGIOUS PRINT
This 345 year old HAND-COLORED copper engraving is from Peter Ribadeneira's "THE LIVES OF THE SAINTS" published London in 1669.
The lives of saints with other feasts of the year according to the Roman calendar written in Spanish by the reverend Father Peter Ribadeneyra, priest of the Society of Jesus and translated into English by W·P· Esquire to which are added all those which have been put into the calendar since the authors edition untill the year 1669: besides those Feasts of Spain which the author himself inserted.
CONDITION
The print is in very good condition, with minimal, natural age toning. The image is about 13 " x 8 " on a page that is 13 3/4 " x 9 ". It is engraved on hand-made, laid paper. The engraving is suitable for framing and would be an excellent gift.
