RARE, ANTIQUE, BOTANICAL PRINT
This 393 year old hand colored, copper engraved print is from "THEATRUM FLORAE" by Daniel Rabel, published in Paris in 1623..

Daniel Rabel (1578 - 3 January 1637) was a Renaissance French painter, engraver, miniaturist, botanist and natural history illustrator. He was the son of Jean Rabel (1545–1603) who was official artist at the court of Henri III. Rabel was first employed as a portrait painter by Marie de Medicis, the second wife of Henry IV of France. He served as Engineer in Ordinary for the King for the provinces of Brie and Champagne.

This hand-colored copper engraving has an image that is 13" x 8 1/2" on a print that is about 14 1/2" x 9 1/2". It is in good condition with some repairs to the left side. Also, some minor water stains. It is suitable for framing and would be an excellent gift.
