"VICTORIAN" DOLL CHROMOLITHOGRAPH
This 117 year old chromolithograph or chromo - antique children's print - was rescued from Francis H. Low's "QUEEN VICTORIA'S DOLLS" published by George Newnes of Strand, England in 1894.
Queen Victoria accumulated a remarkable collection of dolls and played with them until she was at least 14 years of age. These lovely chromolithograph prints were from paintings of these dolls by Alan Wright. The book is marked "THIS BOOK IS PUBLISHED With the Gracious Permission and Approval by HER MAJESTY, The QUEEN".
With each vintage print that you buy, you will get a facimile of the write-up of that specific "Victorian Print." I have included the introduction to the book which discusses Queen Victoria's doll collecting and doll collection.
The chromolith is in good condition, with usual age toning. The image is about 7 " x 6 " on a page that is about 11 " x 8 3/4". The chromo is suitable for framing and would make an excellent gift for a print collector or an antique doll collector. Imagine two or more of these matted and framed and hanging in a little girl's room.
