COPPER ENGRAVING PRINT
This 232 year old Copper Engraving print is from the book "THE PEERAGE OF ENGLAND", by Arthur Collins, published in London in 1779.
The Peerage of England comprises all peerages created in the Kingdom of England before the Act of Union in 1707. The ranks of the English peerage are Duke (highest rank), Marquess, Earl, Viscount, and Baron. While most newer English peerages descend only in male line, many of the older ones (particularly older baronies) can descend through females.
This copper engraving print has an image that is about 4" x 4 " on a page that is 5" x 8 1/2"". The The print is in very good condtion with minor age toning. It is blank on the back. The print usually comes with a page or two of written text concerning the history of the family (see the third picture). This print is guaranteed to be original and from the date stated.
It is suitable for framing and would be an excellent gift.
