HAND-COLORED COPPER ENGRAVING - ANTIQUE NATURE PRINT
This 357 year old HAND-COLORED copper engraving is from John Jonson & Mathaus Merian's "HISTORIAE NATURALIS DE QUADRUPEDIBUS" published by Johann Jacob Schipper in Amsterdam in 1657.
CONDITION
The print is in very good condition, with minimal, natural age toning. The image is about 11 1/2 " x 7 " on a page that is 15 " x 9 ". (blank on back) It is engraved on hand-made, wire-lined paper. The engraving is suitable for framing and would be an excellent gift.
The book that this print came from is rare. It sells on the Internet for over $17,000.
