DESCRIPTION
Fine etched art print from a famous painting by a known artist. Published in Paris in about 1870.
Etching is traditionally the process of using strong acid to cut into the unprotected parts of a metal surface to create a design in intaglio (relief) in the metal. As a method of printmaking it is, along with engraving, the most important technique for old master prints, and remains in wide use today.
CONDITION
This etching is in very good condition. The image is about 7 1/2" x 5" on a page that is about 12" x 8 1/2".
