ANTIQUE Hand-Colored STEEL ENGRAVING OF VEGATABLES  by Fitch 

This 158 year old engraving is from a famous book "A HISTORY OF THE VEGETABLE KINGDON" by William Rhind,  dated 1855.

This steel engraving has an image that is about 8" x 5 " on a leaf or page that is 10 " x 6 ".  It is in very good condtion. It is suitable for framing and would be an excellent gift for a print collector or botonist.

The prints were published by Blackie & Sons in Glascow. The Illustrations were by Walter Hood Fitch who was illustrator for Sir W. Hooker.

The print that is being sold is entitled:

 "PLANTS USED IN DYEING" (CLOVE, ALLSPICE etc.)
